Krampus Night
Locally known as "Devils night" and generally held in the first week of December, this is an Austrian tradition to haunt the kids that havenít been good, it does a good job of scaring everyone. Many hours and great artistic work goes into the outfits they wear. It is free for everyone and just a 2 minute walk from the chalet.

Christmas Market in Kirchberg Centre
The town dons the lights and decorations and the odd gluhwein stand with all the fancy trimmings to give that 'I am dreaming of a white Christmas' feeing.

Christmas day 25th of Dec 2008
Every year Alpenrider takes their guests, staff, and some new season friends to Gasthof Brauwirt for a stunning three course afternoon meal with wine for £ 20 per person and sleigh ride through the snow and free hot mulled wine. After an exciting afternoon of celebrating and drinking schnapps we head back to the Chalet for a surprise visit from Santa Claus. Feel free to bring your own presents as Santa hands out some of his gifts to the crowd.

New Years Eve 2008-09
The Alpenrider Chalet turns it on big style with the best views of towns while we go nuts with the fire crackers. Some stunning 180 degree views over the town views to be had with of fireworks in all directions. Fancy dress is the theme, so bring your best costume!

Hahnenkamm Ski Race - On the 23rd - 25th of January 2009
The 68th International Hahnenkamm ski race is the draw card to all ski racers across the globe. The Downhill, The Super G and The Slalom are all packed into one fantastic action packed weekend with tens of thousands of die hard ski fans cheering these 145km/ph human bullets towards the finish line.

Following the races are the award ceremonies, showering the crowd with champagne in true formula 1 fashion. The plethora of alcohol charged ski fans then head towards the multitude of bars and pubs in the old city of Kitzbühel, partying the night away until the dawn breaks. Rubbing shoulders with ski stars of the past and present is not uncommon and celebrities such as Hugo Boss, Bernie Eccleston, Michael Schumacher and Arnold Schwarzenegger are faces that just keep coming back to this legendary event.

Australia Day - 26th of January 2009
Year after year it only gets bigger and bigger. Every Aussie, along with their mates, from surrounding towns came in bus loads to celebrate the day. The snow bar and Barbie crank all through the day. With enough beer and Bundy Rum to keep Noahís Ark afloat everyone is oblivious to the cold outside. With green and gold and some iconic Aussie tunes, this is a great day to remember.

Fasching Carneval - 21st - 28th of February 2009
Join the mayhem in February, as Europeans celebrate a tradition of Fancy dress on the mountain and drinking and dancing till the early hours. Itís a laughable occasion and often sees young men and women cross dressing / half naked or as a super star. A not so uncommon site is to see one of ìlast nights laughsî hurtling down the piste, still in drag.

Waitangi day - 6th of February 2009
Traditionally Kiwis have had a big presence in the mountains and have always celebrated their National day with good old Kiwi pride, food and beer. Held in the same high regard as Aussie day, the BBQ goes all afternoon with sea of Black and White
